Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group. The Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic role performs heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision, with on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status.

Based in Hobbs NM at the MHC Kenworth-Hobbs location, you will work on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, brakes, and related components, while adhering to safety practices and company procedures.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform and/or assist in general mechanical duties.
• Gain experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Work on major components with close supervision.
• Perform troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attend training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of tools.
