Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Germantown, MD is seeking a heavy vehicle diesel technician to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain our fleet of heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.

Starting pay is $30-$40 per hour with paid training and opportunities for higher pay based on experience and certifications. Benefits include 15 days PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement and overtime after 40 hours, with health coverage after 60 days and a 401(k) after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel trucks and heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
• Ability to diagnose issues and repair to ensure safe operation.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems used in heavy vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $30-$40/hr.

More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.Paid Training!

Shift: 2 Options.

• 5am-3pm M-F (EXP Required For This Shift)
• 2pm-10pm M-F. (Entry Level/Intermediate Exp Fine)
