Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Council Bluffs, IA seeks a qualified diesel truck mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain heavy duty trucks and equipment for reliable daily operations.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, diagnosing issues, and completing repairs on refuse trucks, hydraulic and electrical systems, brakes, suspension and PTO. Starting pay is $26-$30 per hour with overtime after 40 hours and benefits after probation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $26-$30/hrMore pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 2 options. Expect 9hr+ working shifts. Overtime over 40hrs.1)4am-2pm M-F.2)830am-6pm M-F.
