Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Illinois is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and refrigerated units. The role requires ensuring roadworthiness, documenting repairs, and completing work orders daily.

Road call service may be required. Qualified candidates will have 2+ years of diesel repair experience, including PMs, brakes, diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration, with a high school diploma or

Qualifications

• 2+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and experience in A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Complete and perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units) and identify root causes of basic failures.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to roadworthy status.
• Document work orders for repairs and PMs in the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brake systems, steering, wheel bearings and other critical parts for safe operation.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and use of hand and power tools.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
