Job summary

US Foods is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to maintain and repair fleet equipment, including tractors and trailers, while ensuring DOT compliance. The role includes logging repairs in the fleet software and responding to road calls with coordination from vendors.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of hands-on diesel experience, a valid license, and readiness to obtain additional certifications. A strong safety mindset is essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic.
• Ability to read and write legibly and perform basic math for reports and coaching.
• Valid driver's license; Class-A CDL and DOT certification preferred.
• Experience with fleet maintenance software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, etc.).
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls and coordinate with vendors and partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety regulations.
• Use fleet maintenance software to document repairs and parts used.
• Backup to other maintenance staff as needed.
• Possess willingness to obtain additional certifications.
