Job summary
Republic Services in Bettendorf, IA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic/Technician to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, hydraulic and air brake systems. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and support fleet reliability in a fast-paced setting.
The role requires 3-5 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and familiarity with diesel engines. CDL and ASE credentials are a plus.
Qualifications
- Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
- 3-5 years of experience in a technician role handling gasoline and diesel equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
- Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis and hydraulic systems.
- Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication as needed.
- Provide safe road service to ensure equipment is returned to operation.
- Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and standard work orders.
- Follow company training programs and maintain equipment to high standards.
