Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking skilled diesel technicians for our maintenance teams across the United States. Responsibilities include repairing and performing preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks and forklifts, inspecting and diagnosing equipment, and ensuring compliance with FMCSA safety requirements.

The role requires use of hand tools and testing equipment, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and willingness to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• At least one year experience and/or completion of trade school; or equivalent.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Must know general repairs and PM criteria.
• Heavy truck repairs knowledge in a commercial environment, including diesel engine diagnostics.
• Must keep up with changing technology.
• Mechanical interest in engines, electronics and precision equipment.
• Must lift approximately 70 lbs. and have stamina.
• CDL holder preferred; FMCSA Drug Clearinghouse registration if CDL.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Self-starting and organized.
• Willing to work nights and weekends; flexible schedule.
• Ability to interact well with others; work independently or in a team.
• Capable of working under tight deadlines in high volume with multiple priorities.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for repairs and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and/or forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and FMCSA compliance documentation.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance with specs and regulations.
• Regular attendance is required.
