Job summary

Estes Express Lines seeks a skilled diesel/heavy vehicle technician in the United States to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks and forklifts. You will inspect, diagnose, and service equipment while adhering to FMCSA safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Minimum one year experience and/or completion of trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Know general repairs and PM criteria.
• Heavy truck repairs knowledge incl. diesel engine diagnostics.
• Ability to keep up with changing technology and updates.
• Mechanical ability and interest in engines, electronics and precision equipment.
• Must possess strength and stamina for heavy equipment work.
• Physical activities include lifting, walking, twisting, etc.
• CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads.
• CDL holder must be registered with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Self-starting and organized.
• Strong work ethic and problem solving skills.
• Willing to work nights/weekends; flexible schedule.
• Able to lift ~70 lbs.
• Comply with company policies and conduct.
• Interact well with others.
• Work independently or in a team.
• Capable of tight deadlines in high-volume environment.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Repair and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and/or forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and FMCSA/compliant documentation.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with specs.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned as needed.
