Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines in Ohio is seeking a diesel mechanic to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts. You will inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and service equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation.

You must follow FMCSA regulations, read and interpret work orders and manuals, and maintain safety documentation. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• At least 1 year experience or completion of trade school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Must know general repairs and PM criteria.
• Experience with heavy truck repairs and diesel engine diagnostics is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. and work in various positions.
• CDL and FMCSA requirements apply if driving on public roads.
• Able to read and follow safety rules and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and/or forklifts.
• Inspect, trouble shoot, diagnose and service equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare required safety documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts; test equipment after service.
• Maintain attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
