Job description

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Diesel Mechanic A to help with repairs and maintenance on trailer/tractor equipment at our facility shop in McCook, IL.

Shift: Full-Time 3rd Shift - Wednesday-Saturday 10:00PM-8:30AM OFF Sunday-Tuesday!

Pay: Starts at $31.00-$37.00/HR + additional $2.00 per hour for shift differential.

Additional CDL Incentive Pay ($1.00 with active CDL A or B license)

Position Responsibilities

• The Fleet Technician is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of fleet diesel equipment, as well as the diagnostics and rebuilding of clutches and brake systems.
• As a Fleet Technician, you will complete thorough documentation for work orders related to repairs and preventative maintenance using the online AssetWorks system.
• You will operate a company vehicle to diagnose and repair equipment as part of roadside service calls.
• You will ensure that equipment has the required licensing and registration before being deemed "roadworthy".
• You will install, replace, and repair onboard computers (XRS or XataNet) and/or cameras (DriveCam).
• You will work in accordance with company, local, state, and federal policies and regulations to ensure safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 to 4 years of related experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, occasionally lift 100 pounds.
• Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Technical School Certification.
