Job summary

R+L Carriers, Inc. in Meriden, CT is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a full-time evening shift (2:00 pm to 11:30 pm). The role focuses on maintenance of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment with opportunities for welding and forklift work depending on location.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ($30.69–$37.25) and a benefits package, plus vacation after 90 days of employment. Own tools are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and electrical systems.
• Must have own tools and be able to lift 50 lbs.
• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience with Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Experience in trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers, and possibly forklifts.
• Address minor to major repairs and welding as needed at the service center.

Diesel Mechanic - $30.69 - $37.25 Full-Time, Monday – Friday - 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Meriden, CT Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, welding depending on location.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines
• Must be able to handle major repairs
• Experience with AC and Electrical
• Can lift 50lbs
• Must have own tools
• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
