Job summary

GFL Environmental in Independence, MO seeks a diesel truck mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain company-owned or leased heavy-duty trucks and equipment, ensuring they operate safely and reliably. Starting pay is $27-$35/hr, with additional pay possible based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Two shift options are available: 6am-2:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm, Monday through Friday. This role includes benefits such as PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement and retirement

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks and related systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesel refuse trucks and equipment.
• Capable of performing preventative maintenance and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $27-$35/hrMore pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level.

Shift: 2 Options.

1) 6am-230pm M-F (EXP Required For This Shift)2) 3pm-1130pm M-F. (Entry Level Exp Fine)
