Job summary

GFL Environmental is hiring a diesel truck mechanic in Bluffton, SC to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain heavy duty trucks and equipment. Shift is 1pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday; OT after 40 hours; $5K sign-on paid in two increments.

Starting pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour. Benefits are available after 60 days, including health coverage, weekly pay, a monthly tool allowance, boot reimbursement, 15 days PTO, and a 401K after 6 months. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely

Starting Pay: $25-$35/hr More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level. $5K Sign On-paid out in 2 increments Shift: 1pm-1130pm M-F. OT after 40hrs! $3 Shift Differential
