Job summary

Swift Transportation in Edwardsville, KS is hiring Diesel Mechanics to maintain and repair our fleet, ensuring safe, efficient operations. You will work with a team of technicians and trainers, with access to OEM training from Freightliner, International, Volvo, Cummins, and Detroit Diesel.

Competitive pay, bonus opportunities, overtime, and full benefits are provided. Shift: Tuesday - Saturday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, location: 9000 Woodend Rd, Edwardsville, KS 66111.

Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge of vehicle systems and basic maintenance preferred.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to read repair manuals and complete work orders.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic software and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors, trailers, refrigerated units, and support equipment
• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing vehicle and equipment issues
• Disassembling, repairing, and reassembling heavy truck and trailer components
• Performing tire maintenance, repairs, inspections, and failure analysis
• Ensuring all work meets OEM, DOT, and company standards
• Completing repair orders and maintenance documentation accurately

What You'll Do

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet to ensure safe and efficient operations.

What We're Looking For
