Job summary

Swift Transportation is hiring immediately for Diesel Mechanics in the United States. The role offers pay ranging from $24.00 to $36.00 per hour along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for overtime and bonuses.

Shifts are typically Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm. Join a large fleet and receive OEM training, career advancement, and diverse benefits including 401(k) and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with diesel engines and heavy trucks preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret repair manuals.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software used on trucks and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on company equipment according to OEM and Swift specifications.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair tractors, trailers, and related equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components as needed.
• Perform tire maintenance and related tasks.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance preferred.
• High School or combination of training and/or experience required.
• Drivers license required.
• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders.
• Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers.
• Must possess computer skills.
