Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Augusta, ME is hiring a maintenance technician to safely operate, repair, rebuild, and perform maintenance on company-owned heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment. The role focuses on keeping refuse trucks in safe, daily operation and requires hands-on expertise with diesel systems.

Starting pay is $25-$32 per hour, with more based on experience, certifications, and skill level. The shift is 6am–4pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime after 40 hours and benefits after

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks and fleet equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, and PTO systems.
• Willing to work 6am–4pm, with overtime after 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
