Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. in California is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and execute timely repairs while complying with DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA regulations. This hands-on position requires reading precision instruments, using diagnostic tools, and applying your knowledge to support reliable service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Willingness to participate in training classes offered by the company.
• Maintain superior customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Repair company equipment safely and timely, including preventative maintenance and general repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other breakdowns on trucks or related equipment.
• Read precision instruments and use electronic diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on component parts and systems.
• Weld as needed on converter dollies and trucks.
• Comply with DOT, EPA, ICC, OSHA rules and regulations.
• Perform duties as assigned and support safety objectives.
