Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet in peak condition. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure timely repairs to support on-time customer service.

Responsibilities include reading precision instruments, troubleshooting complex systems, and welding as needed. You will work in a safety‑driven environment while adhering to DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA requirements and maintaining thorough

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or similar.
• Experience with truck repair and body/frame work.
• Own tools required.
• Ability to read and interpret precision instruments.
• DOT/OSHA rules knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and rebuild parts of company equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other breakdowns on trucks and trailers.
• Read micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and analyze component failures on trucks, dollies, or related equipment.
• Welding of metals for truck repairs (horizontal and vertical welds).
• Follow DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and participate in training as needed.
• Maintain safe, timely, cost-effective repairs and support operations.
