Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet compliant and running smoothly. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete timely repairs to minimize downtime.

You will read precision instruments, use welding where needed, and apply DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules. We value safety, teamwork, and hands-on problem solving in a supportive OD family environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Truck repair and body/frame repair experience.
• Own tools required to perform duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Valid CDL when required.
• Working knowledge of truck systems and components.
• Proficiency with precision instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform failure analysis.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules.
• Willingness to attend training and adapt to shift changes.
• Willing to participate in tests and maintain customer-focused service.
• Commitment to OD family culture and safety.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild, and repair all parts of company equipment as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other failures on trucks and trailers.
• Read precision instruments and use electronic diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and analyze component failures on trucks or dollies.
• Welding to complete truck repairs when applicable.
• Ensure converter dollies welding requirements are met.
• Apply DOT, EPA, ICC, OSHA rules and regulations.
• Perform all duties and tasks as assigned.
