Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Delaware to inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of heavy trucks and refuse equipment. You will work under supervision, performing chassis repairs, brake systems, hydraulics, HVAC, and electrical work, with opportunities for on-the-road service and hands-on training on state-of-the-art fleet.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and community service, with a clear career path and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Must diagnose multi-system issues with technical proficiency.
• Basic understanding of labor time standards for work orders.
• Experience or knowledge in maintenance on light/medium/heavy trucks, aircraft, or ships.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years in a technician role or recent technical training expected.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems.
• Repair and maintain chassis components and refuse bodies with hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Perform light engine work, suspension, drivetrain, and steering maintenance.
• Service heating/air conditioning and perform welding/fabrication as needed.
• Provide road service to return equipment to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ASE Certifications (T1-T8)
