Job summary

Republic Services in Lewes, Delaware is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, and control systems. The role covers engine work, HVAC, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and more, with on-site and on-road responsibilities and ongoing training.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of technician experience or automotive college/technical school completion, a valid driver's license, and ASE

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Class 1-5 trucks and heavy-duty Class 7-8 equipment or equivalent training.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a technician role or graduating from an accredited automotive college/technical school within 3 months.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance.
• Repair and maintain chassis components, refuse bodies, braking systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, and steering.
• Perform road service and safe return-to-operation of equipment.
• Identify malfunctions using electronic tools and complete company trainings.
• Perform basic line welding and fabrication; other duties as assigned.
