Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, and control systems. Duties cover hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering, with on-site and on-road work.

The role requires 3–5 years in a technician position, with ASE T1–T8 as a plus and a valid driver’s license as a plus. Training and development are emphasized in a stable, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues on gasoline and diesel equipment.
• Familiarity with work order labor time standards and documentation.
• Experience in maintenance on Class 1-8 trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
• ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus, not required.
• Commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicle components and systems on-site and on the road.
• Repair chassis components, refuse bodies, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform light engine work, HVAC, suspension, drive train and steering maintenance.
• Provide on-call road service when necessary to return equipment to operation safely.
• Complete company training programs and adhere to safety standards.
