Job summary

Sysco is seeking an Apprentice Fleet Technician to support Fleet Technician II & III, learning preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on tractors, trailers and related equipment to maximize safety and reliability.

You will learn to perform CVI inspections, diagnose faults, and repair engines, transmissions, electrical and HVAC systems under supervision, contributing to reduced downtime across the fleet.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical training in medium/heavy-duty trucks preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles as assigned.
• Comply with all legal/regulatory inspection requirements and frequencies.
• Perform quality maintenance inspections on tractors, trailers, and equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance repairs under guidance to ensure safety and reliability.
• Address driver vehicle inspection reports promptly and accurately.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications (engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, etc.).
• Document all work on work orders using the specified format.
• Develop efficiency with Sysco computer programs under supervision.
