Job summary

Sysco Central Alabama, Inc. seeks an Apprentice Fleet Technician to assist with safe, reliable maintenance of company fleets. You will learn inspections, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics under experienced supervision to reduce downtime and extend vehicle life.

The role covers annual inspections, routine repairs, and documentation. Candidates should be prepared for a 2nd shift, with strong attention to safety and quality in a heavy-duty environment.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
• Basic ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems.
• Welding and cutting skills (gas, electric, MIG, TIG).
• Basic computer skills and software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Learn to perform CVI/FAI inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Follow regulations and company procedures for inspections and maintenance.
• Develop efficiency with Sysco computer programs used for maintenance work.
• Address driver vehicle inspection reports in a timely manner.
