Job summary

Sysco is seeking a skilled fleet mechanic to keep our vehicles safe, reliable and cost-efficient through preventive maintenance, inspections, and expert repairs to prevent breakdowns and reduce downtime.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled inspections (FAI/CVI), maintenance on tractors, trailers and equipment, diagnosing malfunctions to manufacturer specs, documenting work orders, and using diagnostic software and electrical testing tools. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 2-year school plus 1 year of experience or 3 years in fleet maintenance.
• Current and valid driver's license.
• Proficient in OEM diagnostic software and vehicle systems.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions and DOT regs.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety and reliability.
• Carry out FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs.
• Document work on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
• Operate diagnostic tools and perform welding as needed.
