Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts and related equipment. The role requires basic diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and accurate documentation.

The position offers pay starting at $30.70 per hour, with benefits including a tool reimbursement allowance and tuition assistance for ASE certifications. Shift differential and potential for growth are noted in the benefits.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing vehicle maintenance or an accredited vehicle maintenance certificate/Apprentice Program completion.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment.
• Conduct basic diagnostics to identify sources of trouble and perform adjustments for safe operation.
• Document all maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Carry out safety inspections and perform paint/body work as required.
• Work independently or with a team to complete tasks.
