Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of trucks to keep them safe and operational. You will perform scheduled maintenance and respond to DVIRs, with a focus on quality and compliance.

The role requires reading repair manuals and diagrams, using diagnostic tools, good communication with customers, and accurate record keeping.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and ability to stay organized.
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and parts catalogs.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and teammates.
• Must possess the tools to perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform repairs.
• Replace components and maintain vehicle systems (electrical, air, brakes).
• Check and replenish fluids and filters.
• Conduct routine housekeeping of tools and work areas.
• Interact professionally with customers and document work.
• Complete DOT inspection forms and accurate records.
