Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain our fleet of trucks and equipment. You will follow maintenance schedules, DVIRs, and safety rules to keep vehicles in safe, reliable operation.

This role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, ability to read repair manuals and diagrams, and good communication with customers and colleagues. Nights/weekends may be required; overtime and travel between offices could occur.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair vehicle components.
• In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems preferred.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on fleet vehicles per schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose issues and make necessary repairs.
• Inspect and service vehicle support systems (electrical, air, brake).
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
• Ensure safety devices function properly.
• Follow safety policies and complete housekeeping duties.
• Interact professionally with customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
