Job summary

FedEx Freight in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers and forklifts. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and perform repairs to keep our operation moving safely and efficiently.

Preferred candidates have ASE certifications and a CDL, with tool sets in hand. The role offers tool reimbursement, shift differential, and tuition/ASE certification support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED), preferred.
• Must have one year experience performing vehicle maintenance or be within 60 days of obtaining a vehicle maintenance certificate or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify the source of trouble and makes necessary adjustments.
• Works with other technicians in performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performed, completes reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles, as required.
