Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. Starting pay is $32.25 per hour, with opportunities for tools reimbursement and certifications.

The role requires diagnosing, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting work. Candidates should have a high school diploma, vocational training or apprenticeship, ASE certifications, and a valid CDL if required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks and have valid driver's license if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Conduct basic diagnostics and adjust systems for safe operation.
• Collaborate with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance work in reports (written and electronic).
• Perform safety inspections and basic paint/body work as needed.
• Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies; perform other duties as required.
