Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Fleet Mechanic/Technician in Ohio to maintain and repair our diesel fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs with a focus on safety and documentation.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 1 year of maintenance experience or a related certificate, and ASE certifications with CDL preferred. Tools are provided by the employee, and a strong team dynamic is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or related certificate.
• A.S.E. certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble and adjusts equipment for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents outcomes.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies.
