Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is looking for a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet to ensure trucks stay safe and reliable. The role requires following maintenance schedules, DVIRs, and safety protocols while keeping accurate records and delivering quality service.

The position involves hands-on mechanical work, including electrical, air, and brake systems, plus occasional roadside repairs and duties that support a clean, organized shop.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or component failure.
• In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems is preferred.
• Experience repairing and performing maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per company schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Complete adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related parts.
• Check, fill, and/or change fluids and filters.
• Inspect, repair, and/or overhaul vehicle support systems (electrical, air, brake).
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified for the vehicle type.
• Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
• Interact with internal and external customers with clear written and verbal communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
