Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a diesel mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of company vehicles and trailers. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems while documenting parts used and time spent.

This role requires strong diesel knowledge, familiarity with diagnostic software, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. CDL-A is preferred, and overtime/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial maintenance or 4 years as a diesel mechanic.
• Trade/technical diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine mechanics and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on light, medium, and heavy vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnose problems, test repairs, and document time and parts used.
• Provide safe, efficient service and follow company policies.
