Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a diesel mechanic to join our maintenance team in the United States.

You will perform routine maintenance and repairs on company fleet trucks, trailers and related equipment, ensuring safety and reliability of operations. The role requires knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose issues using diagnostic software and drive tests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial mechanical maintenance or 4 years as a diesel mechanic.
• Advanced knowledge of a vehicle’s electrical system and diesel engine mechanisms.
• Ability to diagnose and repair diesels using diagnostic software and test drives.
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and be on call for emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles.
• Review shop orders and DVIR reports to plan repairs.
• Diagnose problems, test repairs and replace components as needed.
• Maintain electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on trucks.
• Assist and train other mechanics as required.
