Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute in Utah is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on a wide range of trucks and trailers. You will diagnose issues, service engines, transmissions, and electrical systems to minimize downtime and keep the fleet safe and compliant.

This role requires hands-on experience with heavy-duty vehicles, the ability to read maintenance records, and a commitment to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the fleet life cycle.
• Perform required inspections (FAI/CVI) on all fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Perform quality preventive maintenance inspections on tractors, trailers, lift-gates, and other equipment.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications on engines, transmissions, drivetrains, electrical systems, brakes, HVAC, and more.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups timely and efficiently.
• Follow procedures including documenting all work performed on work orders.
