Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a skilled Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers and related equipment. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have five or more years of vehicle maintenance experience, a HS diploma or GED, and ASE Master certification or CDL where applicable. Training and tooling allowances are included with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience maintaining vehicles.
• A heavy-duty vehicle maintenance certificate may substitute for one year experience.
• A Master ASE certification may substitute for two years experience.
• Proficient in brakes, electrical, PMI, powertrain, and trailing equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify and perform preventive maintenance inspections on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and replace or rebuild components and systems as needed.
• Make adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation; document work and prepare reports.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less-experienced technicians.
• Maintain thorough documentation of maintenance performed; prepare safety documentation.
