Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain a fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. The role includes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs with emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) preferred.
• One year vehicle maintenance experience or completion of a maintenance certificate/apprentice program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and tools for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and make adjustments.
• Works with technicians in preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance accurately in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
