Yancey Bros. Co. in Georgia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician for second shift to diagnose, repair and maintain Caterpillar equipment.

The role emphasizes strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and welding skills with a focus on safety and accuracy. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy engines and components, prepare service orders, and document work while working on-site Monday through Thursday with potential Friday overtime.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a diesel technician.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical documentation.
• Operate equipment safely with proper licenses/certificates.
• Strong communication with customers and team; minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
• Repair/replace components of engine, drive trains, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Determine extent of repairs and prepare service orders.
• Tune engines; diagnose computer controls and A/C components with diagnostic tools.
• Perform welding, fabricate parts, and modify equipment as needed.
• Complete work orders, parts orders, inspections and time sheets accurately.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
• Participate in safety program and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain records and communicate with customers effectively.
