Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a mechanically skilled technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks and forklifts. You will inspect, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment, interpret work orders and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs, work across shifts including nights and weekends, and operate independently or in a team to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• 1+ year experience and/or trade school completion or equivalent.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Knowledge of general repairs and PM criteria.
• Heavy truck repairs experience with diesel engine diagnostics preferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing technology and updates.
• Mechanical aptitude for engines, electronics and precision equipment.
• Must lift up to 70 lbs and work in awkward positions.
• Valid CDL and acceptable MVR if driving; FMCSA Clearinghouse if CDL holder.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; organized and self-starting.
• Willing to work nights/weekends in various weather conditions; flexible schedule.
• Strong work ethic and good problem solving skills.
• Able to work independently or in a team; meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and/or forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and maintain equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare FMCSA and other regulations documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with specs and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
• Interact well with others and work in high volume with multiple priorities.
