Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking skilled technicians for maintenance of diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and test equipment, and perform required safety checks in line with FMCSA and regulations.

Strong attention to safety and the ability to interpret manuals and work orders are essential. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of experience or trade school completion, and be capable of lifting heavy weights.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Minimum 1 year experience and/or completion of trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must own tools.
• Knowledge of general repairs and preventive maintenance criteria.
• Knowledge of heavy truck repairs and diesel engine diagnostics.
• Adaptability to changing technology.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in engines/electronics/precision equipment.
• Must have strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment.
• Physical tasks include walking, lifting, bending, and climbing.
• CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving; CDL holder must be registered with FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Self-starting and organized.
• Strong work ethic and problem solving.
• Willingness to work any shift, including nights/weekends; weather doesn't matter.
• Capable of lifting ~70 lbs.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Repair and perform preventive maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and service equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and prepare FMCSA/regulatory safety documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance.
