Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Diesel & CNG Technician B to perform intermediate-to-advanced repairs and preventative maintenance on our Diesel and CNG heavy-duty fleet.

You will work under shop leadership to keep waste and recycling vehicles safe, road-ready, and efficiently operated. The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, required certifications, and the ability to pass a maintenance exam.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of heavy-duty diesel and/or CNG maintenance experience.
• Brake Safety Certificate and 609 A/C System Certification are required.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and related safety regulations.
• Must pass a Maintenance Exam during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repairs: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, CNG systems, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspections: Conduct DOT/brake inspections on brake systems, engine components, emissions, steering, and wheel bearings.
• Test Driving: Test drive trucks to diagnose issues and verify repairs.
• Hydraulic & Specialized Equipment: Maintain and repair heavy-duty waste equipment systems.
• Administrative & Shop Duties: Log repairs, complete digital work orders, request parts, maintain clean workspace.
• Growth: Participate in GFL training classes and skill development programs.
