GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking an entry-level mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on Diesel and CNG vehicles. Under shop supervision, you will assist with inspections, tire/oil/brake changes, and diagnosis to keep our fleet road-ready.

You'll participate in training, work to meet safety standards, and help maintain parts and service records. Prior diagnostic software exposure is preferred, and CDL eligibility within six months is a plus.

Qualifications

• Entry-level knowledge/experience of at least 1+ years.
• Willingness to learn more complex diagnostic and repair process.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related state and federal regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization and with customers/vendors.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Experience using diagnostic software is preferred.
• CDL Class A or B preferred, or willingness to obtain within six months.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist with inspection of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other parts to ensure proper operation.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire, oil and brake changes.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Complete work orders and order parts as required daily.
• Maintain safe working conditions and clean work area.
