Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a skilled Diesel/CNG Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain our diesel and CNG trucks in Buena Vista Charter Township, MI. You will perform inspections, test drives and DOT compliance tasks to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience; CDL is preferred, ASE certificates are a plus, and proficiency with diagnostic software is desirable. A safe, clean shop environment and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations and safety rules.
• Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain GFL’s Diesel and CNG fleet.
• Inspect brake systems, engine components and emission systems.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform electronic diagnostics and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete reports, work orders and parts orders daily.
• Work as scheduled by supervision or higher-grade technicians.
• Maintain safe working conditions and compliance with safety regulations.
• Participate in training to increase skills and knowledge.
• Maintain a clean work area.
