Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Michigan seeks a Diesel and CNG Fleet Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance to keep the fleet road-ready.

Under shop leadership, you’ll complete inspections, test drives, and DOT/compliance tasks while maintaining a safe, clean work area. CDL preferred; ASE certifications welcomed; 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience
• Brake safety certificate and 609 A/C system certification
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related regulations
• Ability to communicate effectively across organization and with customers
• Experience using diagnostic software is preferred
• Willingness to obtain Class A/B CDL within six months
• ASE certifications preferred
• Read/interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain Diesel and CNG fleet.
• Perform basic brake, engine, emissions, steering inspections.
• Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
• Perform electronic diagnostics and repair electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Conduct DOT and brake inspections.
• Complete work orders and order parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety rules
