Job summary

GFL - Sewer Technologies Division is seeking a Mechanic B to diagnose, repair and maintain our Diesel and CNG fleet at the Michigan shop. You will perform brake, engine and emission system inspections, test drives, and electronic diagnostics to ensure vehicles operate safely and reliably.

The role requires reading and interpreting technical manuals, DOT/OSHA knowledge, and the ability to communicate across departments.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other related regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization and with customers and vendors.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals.
• Experience using diagnostic software; must be computer literate and trainable in software systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain GFL's Diesel and CNG fleet under supervision.
• Inspect brake systems, engines, emissions, steering, bearings to ensure proper operation.
• Test drive trucks to identify malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Perform electronic diagnostics and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
• Complete work orders, reports and order parts as required daily.
• Follow shop schedules and safety regulations; keep area clean.
