Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group in Sterling Heights is seeking skilled maintenance specialists for transfer and line dies. You will diagnose issues, perform die changes, and ensure quality aligns with print specifications within a fast-paced production setting.

The role emphasizes tooling setup, root-cause analysis, safety, and Lean practices (5S/Kaizen) to improve throughput and efficiency while supporting environmental compliance goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in metal stamping, prototype, tool and die build, or die repair.
• Proficiency interpreting Blueprint GD&T for dies, details, and part prints.
• Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and optimize transfer and line dies—both in-press and out-of-press.
• Perform precise machining and tooling operations using tool room equipment.
• Partner with press teams on setups and efficiencies to hit posted performance targets.
• Follow and champion safety procedures and protocols.
• Apply root cause analysis (including 5-Why) to drive quality and throughput.
• Hold responsibility for maintaining product quality to print specifications.
