A strong background in metal stamping, blueprints, GD&T, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in metal stamping, die repair, or tool & die building.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and part prints.
• Solid mechanical troubleshooting and data-driven tooling adjustments.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds in a fast-paced shop.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex transfer and line dies to ensure peak performance.
• Operate precision tool room machinery to fabricate and modify die components.
• Collaborate with press operators to streamline setups and maximize production throughput.
• Apply root cause analysis to resolve technical issues and prevent recurring downtime.
• Ensure all tooling meets strict print specifications and quality requirements.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and Kaizen, to improve shop floor efficiency.
• Maintain environmental compliance standards, including wastewater handling duties as required.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal stamping, die repair, or tool and die building.
• Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and part prints.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to adjust tooling based on CMM or gaging data.
• Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 80 pounds and working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Skills

• Technical trade education or relevant college coursework.
• Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 quality compliance standards.
• Experience with 1500-ton stamping presses or similar heavy-duty equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize 5-Why or other structured problem-solving methodologies.
