Job summary

Amsted Automotive Shelby Twp division is seeking experienced Tool & Die Makers on 2nd shift (3pm–11pm, +15% premium) to support production by optimizing dies and tools for improved efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintaining dies, operating tool room equipment, and promoting Lean manufacturing while meeting safety standards and customer specifications. High school diploma or GED required; overtime may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate proficiency of Blueprint GD&T interpretation of Dies, Details, and Part Prints.
• Must be able to effectively troubleshoot and solve daily operational deficiencies.
• Usage of a computer and other productivity machinery such as control panels.
• Must be able to interpret C.M.M. or gaging information and adjust Tooling to maintain Customer Quality requirements.
• Five years’ experience in Metal Stamping, Prototype, Tool and Die Build or Die Repair Technician.
• Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria to maintain manufacturing environmental standards to protect and preserve our customers product and the environment.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet production standards.
• High school diploma or GED
• Some college or technical trade manufacturing education is preferred

• Supports press setup and efficiency as a team to achieve posted expectations.
• Adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
• Uses root cause analysis, problem solving skills to promote efficiency and quality.
• Directly responsible to maintain product quality to print specifications where applicable.
• Must be available to work overtime as required to meet Customer Demand.
• Serves in the capacity of wastewater handler commensurate with completion of proper environmental training.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principals using 5”S” and Kaizen processes.
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives through Continuous Improvement action plan participation and completion

About The Role

Amsted Automotive's TransForm Automotive Shelby Twp division, is seeking experienced Tool & Die Makers for the 2nd Shift (3pm - 11pm+15% shift premium) who will be responsible for supporting production operation setup and efficiencies by keeping tools and dies optimized.

Afternoons: 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm +15% shift premium

Midnights: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am +15% shift premium

Days: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

What You’ll Do
