Job summary

US Renal Care in Hawaii seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join a cross-functional team delivering dialysis treatment to patients. The PCT works under the supervision of an RN or Charge Nurse, assisting with patient care and treatment initiation, monitoring, and sample collection per orders.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
• Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus.
• Must be comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
• Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
• Successful completion of USRC training program including competency; dialysis theory/practice within 8 weeks of hire.
• CPR certification required within 90 days or state requirements.
• PCT certification within 18 months via state or national program.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care during dialysis under supervision.
• Prepare machines, clean and disinfect, perform safety checks and log results.
• Monitor patients during treatment and collect samples per physician orders.
• Follow safety measures and company policies, and adhere to laws and regulations.
• Participate in staff meetings and continuing education offerings.
