Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient CAP track. The role provides and coordinates clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients in the dialysis setting.

You will work under supervision, perform data collection around hemodialysis, educate patients and families, administer medications as prescribed, respond to emergencies, and participate in ongoing training and CAP

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and guidance of the Supervisor and Clinical Educator or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Collects and analyzes patient data before, during, and after hemodialysis; adjusts the treatment plan as indicated and notifies the Team Leader/Charge Nurse as needed.
• Educates patient and family on learning needs and provides initial and ongoing education.
• Directs and provides safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy with the care team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm; documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for the health care team and participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping; reschedules missed collections.
• Updates nursing assessment and plan of care with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Provides information related to transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance within the program.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
